Foundation Year required via Chinese Language Foundation Year (1 year, university-run) (¥9,000/year). WAEC/NECO accepted as O-level equivalent. Academic Requirements
Minimum GPA: 2.5/4. Bachelor's degree in a relevant field required. Electronics, Computer Science, and Information Engineering programs are UESTC's flagship offerings. Belt and Road Initiative Scholarship is available. Sichuan Province Scholarship adds another local funding option.

IELTS: 5.5+ overall. TOEFL iBT and PTE Academic also accepted — contact admissions for equivalencies.

Does UESTC accept WAEC results for Nigerian students?
Yes, WAEC/NECO is accepted for undergraduate foundation program admission. For Masters in electronics or computer science, your Nigerian bachelor's degree qualifies for direct entry. UESTC requires only IELTS 5.5 — the most accessible English language threshold among top Chinese universities.
